Preparation

Crumble Topping
In a bowl, combine the plain flour, brown sugar, rolled oats, ground cinnamon, and salt (add a pinch of nutmeg if you’re feeling festive!).
Add the room temperature butter and work it into the dry ingredients using your fingertips until crumbly. Set aside.
Filling
Toss the diced apples with lemon juice to prevent browning.
Add the caster sugar, plain flour, and vanilla bean paste, stirring until well coated.
Gently fold in the frozen blueberries.
Assembly
Spread the prepared fruit mixture into the greased Dutch oven.
Sprinkle the crumble topping over the fruit, clumping it together for those golden, crunchy pieces.
Baking
Bake, uncovered, for 40-50 minutes or until the fruit is soft and bubbling, and the topping is golden brown.
Finishing Touches
Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
